VOLLEYBALL

Burris came back from a first-set loss to defeat Daleville in four sets (19-25, 25-18, 25-14, 25-11). Taylor Jackson led the Owls with 17 digs and five aces, while My Kel Ivy had 17 kills. Zannah Weber had 28 assists for the Broncos.

Delta fell to Fort Wayne Carroll in three sets (25-20, 25-23, 25-23). Chloe Stitt and Audrey Woodin each put up 10 kills for the Eagles.

Avarie Powell pounded 18 kills to help New Castle earn the three-set win over New Palestine 25-19, 25-20, 25-18. Peighton Barber guided the Trojans’ offense with 42 assists.

Wapahani pulled out the five-set win over Alexandria 25-22, 20-25, 25-23, 17-25, 15-13. Hannah Smith covered the backcourt for the Raiders with 29 digs, while Skyler VanNote put up 16 kills.

Wes-Del topped Jay County 3-1 (25-20, 21-25, 19-25, 25-19). Alysa Sutton led the Warriors’ offense with 26 kills.

Blackford fell to Elwood in a five-set match (19-25, 25-16, 16-25, 25-11, 15-10). The Bruins put up 16 aces as a team, with Tori Baker (5) leading the service game.

BOYS CROSS COUNTRY

Blue River defeated North Decatur 19-36. Zach Barkdull finished first at the competition with a time of 18 minutes, 38 seconds for the Vikings.

GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY

Blue River fell to North Decatur 22-34 in a dual meet. The Vikings’ Logan McRoberts finished third individually with a time of 23:26.

GIRLS SOCCER

Blackford took down Eastern 5-1. Allie Jennerjahn had three goals for the Bruins, followed by Saylor Goodspeed (1) and Sara Carpenter (1).

Central defeated Burris 5-1. The Bearcats got a pair of goals from both Sarah Smith and Jade Clasby in the win. Claire Moorman scored the Owls’ lone goal, which was assisted by Hanna King.

Delta defeated Wapahani 11-1. Bailee Allen scored four goals for the Eagles, while Naja Chinbanda scored her first goal of the season. Kyndall Pursley added six assists.

Yorktown topped Jay County 2-1. Lizzie Smith and Katie Nixon each scored a goal for the Tigers while Lacy Laux had the lone goal for the Patriots.

BOYS TENNIS

Blackford fell to Wabash 5-0. The Bruins’ No. 2 doubles team of Cody Johnson and Evan Jennerjahn earned three games off of their opponents.
